Volvulus of colon

Colonic torsion refers to the closed loop intestinal obstruction caused by the rotation of all working intestinal loops along the long axis of its mesangium caused by abnormal colon development, such as moving colon, long transverse colon and lengthy sigmoid colon. Sigmoid volvulus is more common in colon volvulus, and it is more common in elderly men. Cecal torsion is rare, and can occur at any age, with a high incidence rate at 20~40 years. Transverse colon torsion is rare if it is not caused by adhesion. The incidence rate of this disease varies in different regions, and there are more areas in Shandong and Hebei.
