AV junctional escape beats

Atrioventricular junction escape is due to the slow down of the sinus node impulse frequency, which is lower than the frequency of the potential pacemaker in the atrioventricular junction, or the conduction disorder. The sinus node impulse cannot reach the pacemaker, and the potential pacemaker depolarization produces escape.
